One of my all time favorite sessions is senior portraits. It is just such a major step in a child’s life. Kind of like the baby bird flying the coup, it is a major stepping stone. The portrait in itself can speak in many different directions. For the senior it is a last glimpse into ones self that all their piers will use as a reminder of who the are. Fifty years from now it will be the image that will be seen in the year book that will bring back all the memories of who they actually were. When the image excels, I personally feel it brings back more emotion, and makes it clear who and what they are. For the parent the senior portrait can be the comfort on a cold winter’s night when the child is off at the first year of college, and a stone to allow the little bird to leave. It is so easy to know your baby is safe in the dorm when you have such a fine memory to pull reference from. Its as if the image can say, “Hey mom, remember that awesome morning we spent at the beach together, yeah that one! Well I am in college now, and you raised me great, so its all gonna be okay I have my wings to fly.”
All of which are very strong emotions and references that can instantly bring people back to a particular moment in time. All different views and different reasons for the reminiscing, but all crucial in the life of a blossoming teen. Graduation is a moment every parent both dreads for the loss of innocent, but every parent cheers as a monumental stepping stone in their childs life. So if one can not slow down the process to adulthood, why not grab it with a warm embrace and preserve that moment with a very professional Orange Beach senior portraits session. Go ahead, get those flags a flying!!!
