With literally hundreds of businesses claiming to be professional photographers in our area, how does one choose? In this digital age, its very hard, and you as the consumer must be very careful. It is truly a buyer beware market while on vacation. You must do your research, else you run the risk of hiring someone that is gonna show up with a pop up flash, or claims that they are a “natural light photographer”, and end up going home very, very disappointed. We hear horror stories all the time! Please don’t be one of those statistics. Do your research, ask others for referrals, check with the local chamber of commerce, etc. Also, make sure you are positively hiring the person that is actually taking your photos, and they were the one that actually took the photos in their portfolio. The old bait an switch happens a lot down here, and most customers are none the wiser.
The beach is a very harsh environment for photography, with super bright sun, and very reflective white sand. Things can go bad very quickly, especially when the photographer is not prepared with the proper professional equipment. Consider it the same type of place as a photography studio. You would run out a studio door quicker than a New York minute, if you walked in and the place was completely void of professional studio lighting equipment, and the so called PRO photographer was trying to light the scene with the same type pop-up flash as your own camera. People ask us all the time, how are pictures are look so natural, and the answer is simple, professional lighting. There is just no way around it, so make sure the person you actually hire for you family photography session, is at the bare minimum, bringing professional equipment.
We bring this up, because our awesome group from last night’s sunset posed the simple question. Why do you guys have all this equipment, while all the other “PRO’s” working around us, carry none? The answer is simple, we are here for awesome photography, and over 15 years of experience tells us, there is just no other way to achieve it, but with two people, and tons of professional equipment. So to our group from last night, thank you for doing your research, and seeking out our photography that goes way above the norm. We are proud to now present to you art that is not only professional, but from the heart. We have spent many years mastering our craft, and we are glad we were able to share it with your family.
