Perdido Key

Well yesterday the dog days of summer finally went broke! A cool arctic blast came blowing in, and this town had a little change of attitude. Instead of scoring 110 degree heat indexes, we were blessed with 80 degree perfect beach weather. It was absolutely amazing, we were grinning from ear to ear. We were also blessed with the opportunity to work with these two little cuties. They were no stranger to the beach, let me tell you. They knew the sugar white sands of Perdido Key like it was their second home. We got the tour of their awesome beach, and even got a grand tour of their beach sand castle. It was equipped with its very own olympic size pool, by the way! Needless to say, we had a blast. From watching for dolphins to just plain ole having fun running around in circles, we did it all. Thanks guys for inviting us over, we really were glad to make your acquaintance. We sure can’t wait until the oldest grows up and becomes a cook/princess. Caribe Resort

Professional beach photography portraits are not always about cute little babies, sometimes we are lucky enough to get families with grown babies as well. I say grown babies with the biggest of grin. Last night was one of those instances where we got the distinct opportunity of working with a family with older kids while on their vacation at the Caribe Resort in Orange Beach, Alabama. These guys were a blast to work with. Just like families with small children, our sessions for older kids are pretty much the same. It is all about making connections between the different members which help show the cohesion of the group as a whole. When you can make this connection, you can make magic happen. This magic is the essence of the family bond. This connection is what makes moms hearts go pitter patter and dads smile with pride. This connection is something we love to shoot for. Beach Photographer

One of my favorite parts of family beach photography at sunrise or sunset is using the sun as an element of the photograph. You would think it would be easy to use the sunrise or sunset in photography, but it actually is one of the hardest parts of portrait work. When we first started our journey in professional photography, we quickly decided that this one element would set us apart from the growing crowd because it took craft. A craft that is not easily learned, and a craft that took years to truly develop into perfection. A craft that we love, and a craft that we embrace. Sure it would be a lot easier to use natural light and ignore the prettiest element on the beach at the twilight hour, but that is a compromise we refused to take. Thus we drag out all our heavy equipment through the deep sand, and we create art. Art which is hard to duplicate, and comparable to a oil painter’s master rendition of life and world combined. Gulf Shores Vacations

While most littles are back in school dreaming about Gulf Shores vacations, this little cutie found her spot in the sand and was living the dream. Nothing better than those little piggy toes in the sand. Most experts agree one hour on the beach is the equivalent to twenty hours at a spa. At least that is what wiki links said, not sure who these experts are, but we really like them. Back to the subject at hand, our shot of the day is from last night’s sunset, and this little princess was an absolute blessing to work with. She was just so happy and really loved being at the beach, which made our job super fun and easy. I just love having children that love to have fun and pose. They are so cute and easy to work with. Sure it is fun putting on puppet shows, but sometimes being entertained is a lot easier than being the entertainer. A special thanks to this little princess for being such a fine model. Beach Photography

Do you want to talk about cuteness? Our cute little couple from last night’s sunset session takes the cake. They were so cute, you could look up the term cute in the Webster dictionary, and you would find this picture. She was also such a great big sister. It is almost a guarantee this little princess is gonna grow up helping mom out with everything she can and one day become a great baby sitter when she is a teenager. She was so cute and helpful. Something we don’t always see in most three year olds. It is such a pleasure working with cute kids like these too! Nice families really make our job oh so enjoyable. Professional Family Portraits

Happy babies are so much fun. Not only are their smiles contagious, their happy little attitudes are too! This little guy was such a blessing to be around. Not saying I was having a bad day or anything, but with the heat of August, it wasn’t exactly a jump up and down and run around the yard kinda day. Well that changed instantly the first minute we meet this little booger. I mean he turned both of our frowns up side down. We was so cute with his perm-a-grin, we just couldn’t resist letting our guard down and have a little fun while we got to know this little guy. By the end of the session my side actually hurt from laughing so hard, and I didn’t even care you could almost fry and egg on the sand an hour earlier. Though the sunset did bring some cool refreshing winds which were much needed after one of probably the absolute hottest days of the year. Baby Beach Pictures

Beach portraits should be all about fun and happy face smiles, the same goes with baby beach pictures. Fun times, fun smiles, and fun memories. There is nothing like a happy baby on the beach, and nothing makes a momma’s heart go pitter patter more than when it is captured on film. Today’s shot of the day is one of those “be still my heart” type of moments. This little angel was quite the professional when it came to making momma smile though. It was like she already had years of practice. She was such a little angel to work with. I just love working with littles that can’t even crawl yet. Gulf Shores Senior Beach Portraits

One of my absolute favorite type sessions is Gulf Shores senior beach portraits. I know I have said it a thousand times but here it goes again. These shots are so important for a kid. I mean they are the shots that are going to be what everyone else remembers them by. That is why we don’t take senior beach portraits lightly. We throw every bit of our professional knowledge into these sessions because we want to rock them in every single way. I really feel it pays off too. The seniors always reflect with a huge grin on their face at the end of each session. They just know that we went above and beyond the call of duty and helped them achieve something unique and different from all their peers. I always like to imagine myself in their shoes, constantly asking myself the questions like, would I like this pose, or does the lighting look natural, are we getting enough trendy shots, are we getting too trendy, are the shots unique, are we making the posed shots look natural, etc, etc, etc… A special thanks to our sunrise senior from this morning for bringing such a great attitude. Family Photography Perdido Key

A happy family makes for a happy vacation. A happy vacation makes for a happy family. The both seem to go rather well hand in hand. Something about the ocean air that keeps us all grinning with smiles from ear to ear. Sure it is the Gulf, but the ocean air is unmistakeable. The smell alone can turn a frown upside down when you first smell it fifty miles from the coast on your way in from the interstate. Sunset Beach Pictures

Somedays we show up to work and we find out our clients have a little something we like to call hipster style. Last night’s sunset session was one of those occasions. This little guy had what the hipsters call swag. I mean even his steps had a little swagger. I am positive he had about twenty girlfriends all fighting for his undivided attention. He had a pleasant gentleman like way about him too. Very polite and gently spoken. What a fine young fellow to work with. He really had a lot of fun and he made the session really enjoyable. He was just so eager to pose and help us get the perfect shot. Thanks little man, we really had a good time working with you.
